Well it has been over a year since I have blogged anything. I guess you would have thought that I would have been "blogging" this deployment I've been on...but that can be kind of tricky in the way of OPSEC so I decided against it...However I did want to add this cute little box to my blog...

I can't wait to get home!!

Sometimes I feel like I have a thousand thoughts and no way to express them. Being in a new rate in the Navy, headed back to "sea duty", Naiya's 1st birthday in a few months...wow! It is just a lot to try and process. I'm thankful for a wonderful husband that is taking such great care of me and the kids right now...he is doing a hard job pretty great and making sure that I am set and ready for each day with no worries. I'm thankful for the technology that allows me to chat and talk with my twin often...it's hard enough being 3 time zones away but at least we can chat a lot....
I don't know what else to say for now...

Well it has definitely been entirely too long since I've posted up a blog...Lots of changes have been in the works...we are now out in San Diego, California getting settled. Terry is retired from the Navy and I'm back on sea duty at NIOC San Diego.

Here is the latest family photo:

(More in the gallery, of course.)

A short post for now, but I will update more this weekend :)

Video of Naiya

Here is a video of Naiya doing some laughing. She was almost 5 months when this video was taken.

Nakia is so silly!

The other day we exchanged Christmas presents with our neighbors. Nakia got a cute new Cabbage Patch baby. When we got home and she took her out of the box, she took her shoes off. Later on I saw the baby's shoes and went and put them back on the baby doll. A little while later, Nakia said "She can't wear her shoes in the house." Then Nakia took the baby's shoes off and went and put them where our shoes go when we come in the house. It was hilarious. I love all of the cute things that she says and does.

(In October, I asked her where her big girl words were and she told me "They are in my mouth." I was cracking up.)

My Little Ones...

When browsing through pictures on our website, as I do quite often, I came across this one, a picture of Nakia and Nathan:

Nathan & Nakia in the Summer of 2008

It actually happens to be one of my "favorite" pictures of them together. Although I use the term "favorite" so much. I guess I just have so many pictures of them that are cute that it is hard to pick just one.

Now we have little Naiya, our new addition to the family. She already has so much personality and I can see that things are going to be even more fun and interesting as she continues to grow.

Naiya in December 2009

As you can see, Naiya already looks so much like her big brother and her big sister. Ok, so she doesn't get her looks from me, but that's ok :)

With 2009 winding down, I think that 2010 is going to bring bigger and better things for our family. We have a lot of stuff going on at the beginning of the year and we are going to be moving across the country, which will be interesting in itself. Life is good.

Terry's return

Terry will be home in just a few short days and I can't wait!! It seems like the time has went by fast since he left but in some ways it seems as if it has dragged on, taking forever. I am glad that there is now only a few more days until we get to spend some time together. I am proud of what we do by being in the military, but that doesn't make it any easier to be apart. Thankfully we are both in and I think that helps the each of us understand a little bit more and I am grateful for that. I will need that kind of love and support when I have to deploy.

Of course pictures will be posted asap after he gets home!

Naiya's 4 Month Check up

| | Comments (0)

Naiya had her 4 month check up on December 10, 2009.

She is doing great!

Weight: 13 lbs 11 oz. ~ 68th percentile
Height: 25.6 inches ~ 97th percentile

She had her 2nd set of shots at this appointment and did well with them.

Naiya is rolling over very well now and is also trying to sit up. She loves to "talk" and smile a lot, and also loves to laugh.

Naiya had her 2 month check up a little bit early on October 1, 2009.

Here are her stats:

Weight: 10 lbs. 7 oz. ~ 70th Percentile
Height: 22 1/2 inches ~ 76th Percentile

Naiya is doing great and is growing well!

Lately I have been overwhelmed with kindness from others. Sometimes there is just no way to thank others or the kind things that they do. I won't say that I've been overwhelmed since Naiya's birth, but things have definitely been busy. And much different than they were after I had Nakia. With Terry being in Iraq, it seems like I have to plan for the smallest things...like taking a shower or cleaning the house. Our next door neighbors, Tiffany and Dominique have been so wonderful that I could never fully repay them. Dominque takes care of the yard work for me and Tiffany comes over almost daily so that I can take a shower in peace. Friends of friends make me food and take pictures of my children....Out of town friends are helping me when traveling from letting me borrow a car seat so that it is one less I have to travel with to letting me use their spare car. I could go on and on listing out all of the generous things that people have done for me over the past few months. But most of all I can say that my heart is just overwhelmed with love. I always try to live my life helping others as I see the opportunity arise, but at no other time in my life have I ever seen so many kind things come my way as they have with the birth of Naiya. It is truly a wonderful thing to see that there is so many kind people left in the world, and that they are right here around me...being my friend through the toughest of times. For that I am thankful...
